Howard Omar Hoke, age 76, of Cleveland, WV, died Sunday May 30, 2021 at St. Josephs Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was born December 9, 1944 in Baltimore MD, a son of the late Charles Grant and Genevieve McCray Herron Hoke. On June 7, 1964, he married Barbara Myers Hoke who survives in Cleveland. Also Surviving are one daughter Janet McCourt and husband Bernard of Weston; one son Lawrence Hoke and wife Julie of San Antonio, TX; nine grandchildren Ryan, Sam, Stuart, Scarlett, Sydney, Bryce, Ian, Ava, and Zoey; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kelly Williams and husband Roy of Volga, WV, Johnna Norman and husband Lincoln of Cleveland, WV, Jill Bonnett and husband Mike of Bergoo, WV; three special aunts, Rebecca Kelbaugh, Patricia Blevins, Janice Blackford, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Hoke was a retired Army Vietnam Veteran and was a Special Agent in the United States Secret Service for many years. He also loved hunting and spending time with his family whom he loved very much. Friends will be received Friday June 4, 2021 from 5pm-8pm at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday June 5, 2021 at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow at Life Cemetery in Webster County where military honors will be provided by the WV Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
