untitled2 Visitation Monday, July 11, 2011 6-8 PM Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Funeral Service Tuesday, July 12, 2011 10 AM Funeral Home Burial Buckhannon Memorial Park Sterley Alton Brake Sterley Alton Brake, age 88, of Morgantown, WV died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Morgantown. He was born August 29, 1922 in Lorentz, WV, a son of the late David Arthur and Opal Oreta Brown Brake. On May 6, 1972 he married Emma E. Lott Snyder who preceded him in death on November 30, 1996. He is survived by one step son, Wilbur “Bill” Snyder of Morgantown; one step daughter, Jaclyn Snyder Gatian of Morgantown; three sisters, Hazel Rexroad of Buckhannon, WV, Millie Goss of Bruceton Mills, WV and Belva Call of Delaware, OH; two brothers, Bob Brake of PA and Gene Brake of Fairmont, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Brake served in the US Navy during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598, a former member of the Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, and BPOE Lodge # 1736. Friends will be received Monday, July 11, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Joseph M. Shreve officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside.
