Richard Adrian Eve, age 73, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born August 5, 1947, in Williamson, NY, a son of the late James and Florence Van Putten Eve. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudia Jean Eve; two infant daughters, Krystal Lynn Eve and Crystal Marie Eve; one brother, Don Eve and one brother-in-law, John Arthur Wolf. On April 9, 2014 he married Susan Essof of Buckhannon, who survives. Also surviving are, his son Richard Adrian Eve, II and wife Tonya of Clarksburg, WV; one grandson, Matthew Eve and wife Brandee of Clarksburg; one granddaughter, Savannah Eve of Clarksburg; one great grandson, Wyatt Eve of Clarksburg; one great granddaughter, Ansley Eve of Clarksburg; two brothers, James Eve and wife Judith of Naples, NY and William Eve of wife Mary of Livonia, NY; one sister-in-law, Florence Eve of Williamson, NY; three nephews, Matthew Eve and wife Jill of West Henrietta, NY, Mike Eve of Webster, NY and William Wolf of Geneva, NY; one niece, Chris Wolf of Rochester, NY and one brother-in-law, Richard Wolf, Jr of Palmyra, NY. Mr. Eve was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. During his enlistment, he received the Vietnam Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, and a Good Conduct Medal.  In his later years, Mr. Eve was seldom seen without wearing some USMC insignia as he was extremely proud of his service. After service to his country, he moved his family to WV to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College where he attained a Business Degree. Mr. Eve also served the City of Buckhannon as a police officer and the Town of Gauley Bridge where he was the Chief of Police.  Mr. Eve retired as a landman after several years being involved with the oil and gas industry in various Mid-Atlantic States. Mr. Eve was a Methodist by faith and in honoring his wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to any Veterans Service Organization of your choice. A memorial service will be held in the coming weeks to celebrate the life of Mr. Eve. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
