Obituary of AnnaBell Hoover

AnnaBell Hoover, age 89, of Tallmansville, WV, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was born October 21, 1931, in Alton, WV, a daughter of the late Freeman and Mary Elizabeth Johns Zickefoose. On March 23, 1951, she married the love of her life, Mason J. Hoover who survives of Tallmansville. They just celebrated their 70^th wedding anniversary. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Donald (Mavis) and their children, Brian and Cody Hoover, Richard (Becky) and their children, Sierra, Brittany and Elizabeth Hoover, Ronald (Jannie) and their children, Waylon, Melinda and Abby Hoover; one daughter, Mary (Spike) and their children Todd and Chris Tenney and Kasey Burkhammer; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several step great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and one sister, Donice Tenney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson; one great granddaughter; one great-great grandson; one great-great-granddaughter; one step great grandson; four brothers, Harold, Willard, Elmer and Robert Zickefoose; three sisters, Lurene Tenney, Kathleen Carpenter and her twin, JoAnn Maher. Mrs. Hoover was a loving and devoted wife, working side by side with her husband in the hayfield, the gardens, at the sawmill or where ever he needed her. She was a caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed watching her grandchildren. Mrs. Hoover was a long-time member of the Tallmansville CEOS and a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Holly J. Hoover and Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Breast Cancer Society.
