Obituary of Jimmy Lee Canter

Jimmy Lee Canter, age 67, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his home. He was born December 30, 1953, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Elmo Augustus and Roseanna May Lanham Canter. On July 29, 1978, he married Martha Jane Smith who survives of Buckhannon. He is also survived by one sister, Karen Sue Blackhurst of Idaho Falls, ID; one brother, Danny Joe Canter of Greenville, TN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Amber Lynn Canter. Mr. Canter owned and operated Triple Eight Trucking, was a former truck driver for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon and a former security guard at Trus Joist. He loved to hunt and fish.  A Memorial Gathering will be held 12 Noon until 1 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses. In honoring Mr. Canter’s wishes he will be cremated.
