Kenneth James Ogden, 86, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, February 15, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born June 26, 1934, in Holly Grove, WV, a son of the late Floyd and Ruby Huffman Ogden. He is survived by his wife Mattie Freeman Ogden, whom he married April 8, 1955; one daughter, Kay Lantz and husband Jack of High View, WV; two granddaughters, Jessica Lantz of Richmond, VA and Alyssa Lantz of Front Royal, VA, two nephews and three nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Lewis; one half brother, Ralph Eskew and two nephews. Mr. Ogden was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School Class of 1955. He served in the US Army and National Guard. Mr. Ogden retired from the postal service. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and helping others. Ken was the kindest, most generous, and big-hearted person. Friends will be received Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 11 AM to 12 Noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 12 Noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Cyril Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery in Selbyville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
