Obituary of Donald Clifford Marsh

Donald Clifford “Toothpick” Marsh, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born August 28, 1948, in Nestorville, WV, a son of the late Wesley Delbert and Elsie Mae Gribble Marsh. On July 22, 1987, he married Becky Zickefoose who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Wesley Delbert Marsh and wife Rachael Marie of Volga, WV and Thad Richard Marsh of Buckhannon; two daughters, Sylvia Dawn Parks and husband Jimmie of Philippi, WV and Deborah Joanne Corley and husband Bernie of Belington, WV; six grandsons, Zachary Stalnaker and girlfriend Ashley of Philippi, Morgan Stalnaker and fiancée Emily of Junior, WV, Braydon Parks of Philippi, Traé Corley and girlfriend Elizabeth of Mt. Claire, WV, Timothy Corley and fiancée Carley of West Milford, WV and Jayden Marsh of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Amber and Addisyn Marsh both of Volga and Brooklyn Marie Marsh of Buckhannon; six great grandchildren, Clayton, Casmiera and Dawson Stalnaker, Grayson and Ryleigh Corley and Avery Kate Collins; one great grandchild on the way; one brother, Mike Marsh and wife Rosanne of Morgantown, WV; one sister, Peg Moore and husband Jim of Grafton, WV; one sister-in-law, Jane Marsh of Moatsville, WV and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Ted and Chuck Marsh and two sisters, Polly Alexander and Bernida Rutherford. Mr. Marsh was a truck driver and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Buckhannon. Friends will be received Sunday, February 14, 2021, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Church Cemetery in Hodgesville, WV.
