Sorry to hear of Gary’s passing and my thoughts are with the Zickefoose family! I really enjoyed Gary coming down to the field and playing football with Greg and Brian at the HS field in the summers during conditioning! Gary would always give his opinion and was open to hear yours! Drew & I helped Gary & Jeanie trim the hedges and would always look forward to the dessert and catching up on the “The Boys”! Always a great visit! Thank you Gary for your advice and Rest in Peace Buccaneer!

I grew up around Gary, Marble and Marguerite and remember them as good neighbors and friends. I often wondered what happened to Gary over the years after losing touch with him. I see now that Gary had a very busy and productive life filled with many accomplishments. He was blessed. My condolences to his family. You are in our prayers.

I met Jeanie and Gary when Jeanie taught at Hartman Grade School where my boys attended. We all ran around together for a while. Everyone thought Jeanie and I looked alike. I really was so saddened to hear of his passing. He was a very kind guy, and my boys loved him. We had babies around the same time, and later they played baseball against one another. Even though I haven’t seen them for years, I often remember those days when we were all friends. Jeanie, I am so sorry. You and the family are in my prayers. Love you, Becky (Mazza) Rogers

Dear Jeanne and Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences. Gary was my Professor for a few years in 1997, become my co-worker and mentor when I began my time at FSU in 2001. He is the faculty member that I look up to most in the department. His knowledge, dedication to the profession, and incredible classroom presence could never be replaced. Gary was my friend most of all and we always talked about family first. Brian and Greg: I know more about you guys than I do about most people, and we've never met. From the Army football talk, to flight school through grand children- he would light up when he talked about family, he has so much to be proud of.... I miss him terribly and will often reflect on our time together and continue to tell stories about the Professor who touched every student's lives that came the Department of Technology at Fairmont State. My thoughts and prays to the entire family, so sorry for your loss.

Jeanie and family,
What a wonderful life to have lived...your Gary. From this distance and not seeing or knowing Gary for many years, it is easy to see he contributed in so many ways to making the world a better place. Gary was one of many remarkable contributors to the
football championship team. And it seems he remained a champion to you and many others in so many ways.
Blessings and heartfelt condolences,

Jeanne, I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of Gary. I understand your grief since my loss of Bunie two years ago. My dad, Paul M. Brown, (a 1931 graduate of W. Va. Wesleyan and also a football, basketball, and baseball player) was friends with your dad, Hank Ellis. Also.....my family and I have been life-long friends with Marilyn Pitcher, Nannette Reger, and their parents, Stickley and Zella Martin! We spent many W. Va. Wesleyan Homecomings with their family. We still remain close friends. I wish I had realized all of this when our boys were playing ball together here in Bridgeport. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. With Sincerity and Memories, Evelyn Brown Harper

Jeanne,
Dave and I were so sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. We remember him mostly from Barbour Street where we were neighbors as children. I remember one time when his dad had to give his dog, Inky, (I think was his name) because he had tangled with a skunk.
May God surround you all in his arms and give you strength during this time. Many prayers and love for your family.
Love, Jennie and Dave McHenry
