Dear Jake, John, Margret & family, To say that your Mom touched hundreds of lives in a positive way would be an understatement. For us she was a very special person and friend who had a great impact on our son Steve. He came home every day excited and talking about Mrs. Reger and what went on in K. Her influence on these kids in their formative years is immeasureable. She exemplified the old adage, "If you do it right, you can make a difference." Sincere condolences and best wishes always, Coach & Madame

Oh, how we will miss Helen Reger! For 30 years, we have been blessed to be Helen's friends and neighbors, and we cherish every moment and memory. Waving in the morning. Running across the street for chats on the porch. Blowing snow off her sidewalks and getting warm apple dumplings in thanks. Sharing birthdays and special family occasions. Knowing that she had a special place in her heart for us and for our children and grandchildren. All the things that build a bond between friends and neighbors. Our heartfelt condolences to Peggy, John II, Jake, and all of Helen's family.

I'm wiping away a tear right now for a woman I haven't really seen in 47 years. Strange to think that she was the age I am now when I attended her kindergarten classes. God bless you Helen Reger and condolences to all her family. I hope it is some consolation to know how much of her beautiful soul is carried forward by so many of her students.

Peggy, John, and Jake,
I’m so sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. What a wonderful lady and such a mentor to many. I did my student teaching with Mrs. Reger and I couldn’t have been placed with a better teacher. I certainly credit her with part of my success in my career. I visited with her a few years ago and it was just wonderful to see her. Still just as cheerful as ever. Mrs. Reger has left a legacy not matched by others. Sending my sincere sympathy from Jack and me.

Peggy, John, Jake and families, there are no words to do the honor your sweet Mother so deserves, the lives she touched are so numerous it would be impossible to count, she definitely was a leader and mentor for children and teachers alike, I can still remember the long lines of parents at the Board of Education Building that got up very early to be sure their children would be in her Kindergarten , everyone wanted Mrs. Reger to teach their children and at that time it was first come first served, she will always be a legend in our little town , all this and managed to raise 3 wonderful children of her own , love and prayers for you at this time.

To Peggy, John, Jacob and Families: I am thinking of you today with sadness and sweetness. What a gal ! Helen was a Trailblazer, a Pioneer, a Giver, and an Inventor of Solutions and Fixes. For me and many others, she was a Cheerleader! For most of our adult lives, we always had that small hand on our backs, gently pushing us on, and quietly saying: "Go! Go ! Go !. "
To Be Remembered Is To Live Again.

Finding the words to say about Mrs. Reger is overwhelming! I cried the day I realized 1st grade meant that she would not be my teacher any longer. I remember so vividly simple moments from Kindergarten and even more the love she shared with us as her students. Over the years she never left my mind and when the time came for me to make a decision about a career, she was a critical motivator for me to become an educator. Not only an educator, but one focused on supporting the youngest of children and their families. I am a better person for having had her in my life, and this world is a better one for the love she gave to every single child who came across her doorstep. My thoughts and prayers to all who knew and loved her.

Thinking of Mrs. Reger brings a tug on my heart and wonderful memories. Two of my brothers and my daughter Lindsey got their school start in her nurturing classroom. There is a quote that says, “a teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart.” We are all better for the many minds and hearts she has touched through the years, both in and out of the classroom. My love goes out to all of her family.
