Obituary of Gail Francis Valenson

Gail Francis Valenson, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday, November 19, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born August 22, 1936, in East Chicago, IN, a daughter of the late Frank and Augustina Novotony Hand. On March 20, 1956, she married James Eugene Valenson who preceded her in death on December 30, 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Hand and one infant brother, Frank Hand. She is survived by two sons, Jim Valenson and wife Ammie of Buckhannon and Jeffrey Valenson and longtime partner John Gile of Los Angeles, CA; one granddaughter, Stephanie Valenson and fiancé Paul Guzman of Beaumont, CA; one grandson, Vincent Valenson and wife Krystle of Fairmont, WV; one sister, Joanne Nelson and husband Gene of Yucaipa; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Hand of Duarte, CA; one daughter -in-law, Cathy Stevenson of Grapevine, TX and her beloved dog, Heidi. Mrs. Valenson was a Secretary. She was a member of the St. Francis of Rome in Azusa, CA. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 5 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, CA.
