Cynthia and Brett: So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. We just found out about it when we got the paper today. We spent a lot of good times with your mother and dad, riding motorcycles when we were all younger, playing cards and dominoes when we got older. They were both "good people". We will be thinking of you as you go forward.

I knew Betty for many years through the West Virginia Aging Services where she helped provide senior workers for the Department of Health and Human Resources in Upshur and Lewis Counties. She was a valuable asset in helping to provide services to clients in both counties. As a fellow board member, she helped in providing direction for delivery of services to the clients that the agency served. She was a pleasure to work with. My condolences to Betty’s family and friends. She will certainly be missed. Joseph M. Turner

Brett and Cynthia, we’re sorry that due to an accident we missed several months of church and fellowship with your Mother, Betty and the rest of our Mount Rupert Church family. She always wore a smile and boosted others up with a hand shake and encouraging words. We will miss her but are grateful for her presence in our lives. We will treasure the memories. God Bless You, Frank and Gay Baxa

So sorry for your loss. I’ve know your Mom since I was a young girl. I helped out in the BU High School office during my junior and senior year. Betty was one of the secretaries. She was always dressed nicely, very pleasant, helpful, and did her job very professionally. I learned a lot from watching her as well as her guidance. Over the years our paths continued to cross from time to time. Always enjoyed seeing her smiling face at church, conversation and willingness to help others. She will be missed but well remembered. A Wonderful Lady. - Peace be with you, Sandra Ireland

I feel very lucky to have known the Lady Betty Talbot. I believe you mother to be a true Lady. She was the definition of a Lady. Even if you had never meet the Lady Betty but saw her in a room full of people you would know she was a Lady. When she was going through her treatments at UHC I was lucky enough that the Lady Betty chose me to drive her. I was recovering for a illness and had a craving for the Lady Betty’s fruit salad. I called her and she was going to give the recipe to my brother the next day at church. The Lady Betty not only gave him the recipe, she gave him a bowl of fruit salad for me. I am thankful that I got to know the Lady Betty through Mt. Rupert UMC. Also the church was fortunate enough to have gotten to meet the Lady Betty’s children, Brett and Cynthia (sister) whom the Lady Betty was so proud of. My life is better for knowing the Lady Betty Talbott. I will be praying for the family during this difficult time. God Bless!
