Obituary of Mary Poling

Mary Poling, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, August 21, 2020, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. She was born July 22, 1929, in Windber, PA, a daughter of the late George and Mary Kindrish Wonyetye. On August 18, 1949, she married Gareld Poling who preceded her in death on January 18, 2013. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; one sister-in-law, Greta Cummons and one brother-in-law, Gerald Poling.  She is survived by two sons, Bill Poling and wife Gail and Matt Poling and wife Cheryl Mateal all of Buckhannon; one grandson, Luke Eli Poling and wife Rachel of Vandalia, WV; four granddaughters, Colleen Claypoole and husband Jason and Mikaela Poling all of Buckhannon, Mikenze Poling of Keyser, WV and Mikinna Russell and husband Kirk of Morgantown, WV; five great-granddaughters, Hannah Tomblyn, Allie and Jenna Claypoole all of Buckhannon and Meadow and Delaney Poling both of Vandalia; two great-grandsons, Austin and Bryce Bowen both of Buckhannon; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Moran of Elkins, WV and Vera Laskowski of Elyria, OH; five nieces, Linda Sharon Collins of Elkins, Greta Kuhl and husband Kenna of Canal Fulton, OH, Vera Hammond and husband Bob of Fayetteville, NC, Dotti Jilek and husband Bill of Mansfield, OH and Vicki Concannon of New Braunfels, TX and one nephew, Robert Cummons and wife Joan of Elyria. Mrs. Poling was a homemaker. She was a member of the Nays Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, a member of the Sunshine Homemakers Group and the Rebekahs of Independent Order of Odd Fellows. A graveside service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Mt. Union Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating.
