Ava Mae Perry, age 78, of Philippi, WV, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Mansfield Place in Philippi. She was born April 2, 1942, in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Charles and Pauline Garlen Koon Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Kay Perry. She is survived by four sisters, Wanda Bennett of Buckhannon, Zelma Upton of Barbour County, WV, Wilma Bennett of Haltom City, TX and Waveline Davis of Cheraw, SC; three brothers, Melvin Perry of Hinkleville, WV, Arnold Perry of Buckhannon and Charles Maxwell Perry of Tallmansville, WV; niece, Sondra Nutter; great nephew, John and Vicki Nutter and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Ms. Perry was a Christian by faith. She loved to color, sew, crochet and enjoyed children. The family would like to thank all who loved and cared for Ava. Friends will be received Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
