David Shawn Hamilton, age 48, of Volga, WV, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at home. He was born February 15, 1972, in Harrison County, WV, a son of Barbara “Bobbi” Eileen Weaver and fiancé Dwayne Floyd of Manassas, VA and William D. “Bill” Hamilton and wife Sue of Buckhannon, WV. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his former wife of 21 years, Amy Hamilton of Buckhannon; one daughter, Tessa Hamilton of Buckhannon; one son, Dylan Hamilton of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Brielle Duncan of Buckhannon; one brother, Jeremy Hamilton of Manassas, VA; one sister, Alyse Malmgren and husband John; one step brother, James Powell and wife Heather of Buckhannon; one grandmother, Martha Beers of Ashland, OH; stepfather, Jerry Weaver, Jr of Charlottesville, VA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Shawn was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Jeremy “Todd” Weaver. “Shawn” was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing or ginsenging in the West Virginia Hills, a place he dearly loved along with spending time with his granddaughter Brielle. He was an excellent artist which enabled him to pursue a life long career in painting . Shawn was a past member of the District Council # 53, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, AFL-CIO, CLC and a graduate of BUHS Class of 1990.  A private service will be held for the family. Burial will follow in Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral is in charge of the arrangements.
