Obituary of Dean H. Ruhlow

Dean H. Ruhlow Dean H. Ruhlow Dean H. Ruhlow, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at his home. He was born on June 4, 1931 in Hoskins, NE, a son of the late Venus and Elsie Ruhlow. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orin and Travis Ruhlow and one sister, Phyllis Clifford. He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Ruhlow of 63 years; one daughter, Anne C. Erdman and husband Larry; two grandsons, Michael Erdman and Nicholas Erdman and wife Valerie. Dean grew up in Wausa, NE and graduated from Wausa High School. He moved to Buckhannon in 1948 and was employed at the local A & P store. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College and the University of Nebraska. He was an accounting professor at WVWC for thirty-seven years and was the first Director of the MBA program. He was instrumental in getting it started and it continues to be a success today. Dean was a charter member of the Omicron Delta Kappa at Wesleyan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Buckhannon Lions Club and the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks. He enjoyed watching sports, playing golf, hunting, fishing and woodworking. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 1-2 PM, the funeral hour.
