DonaldReedSr Donald Darrell Reed, Sr. Donald Darrell Reed, Sr., age 82, of Tallmansville, WV died Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born March 21, 1933 in Ten Mile, WV, a son of the late Henry E. and Francis R. Koon Reed. On December 20, 1958 he married Mary Rose Chapman who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Donald Darrell Reed, Jr. and wife Sharon of Ten Mile; three daughters, Connie Jean Wagoner and husband Teddy (Butch) of Ten Mile, Carmela Jane Rice of Sago, WV, Cindy Joyce Campbell and husband Mark of Buckhannon; eight grandsons, Teddy “TJ” Wagoner, Jr., Brandon Reed, Mitch Wagoner, Michael Ware, Hunter Reed, Levi Reed, Derek Reed and Austin Reed; three granddaughters, Sheena Pumphrey, Carmalita Starkey and Tameka Ware; five great-grandsons, Tucker Starkey, Nekotah Ware, Teddy “Jack” Wagoner, Brayden Reed and Wesley Hoover; three great-granddaughters, Emma Starkey, Miley Starkey and Mahala Pumphrey; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold Reed of Buckhannon, Jerry Reed of Tallmansville, Charles “Chuck” Reed of French Creek, WV and Thomas “Tom” Reed of Buckhannon; two sisters-in-law, Jewel Reed Campbell of French Creek and Barbara Reed of Buckhannon; two step sisters, Dorothy Rycroft of Elkins, WV and Sharon Quick of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Jesse Reed; step mother, Myrtle Bond Reed; five brothers, Junior, Bobbie, Larry, Billy and infant twin brother Denvil Reed; two sisters, Jean Ward and Mildred Blagg and a step brother, David Wilt. Mr. Reed was a truck driver and attended The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints of Buckhannon. He served in the US Army in Korea during the Korean War. He was a life time member of the French Creek Chapter # 36 DAV. He loved hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Friends will be received Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5-9 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday at the church with Bishop Steven Linger. Burial will follow in the Big Bend Cemetery at Sago, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Big Bend Cemetery Association c/o Barbara Reed, PO Box 928, Buckhannon, WV 26201. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside.
