My family and I want to express our sorrow for your loss. Sue always has a smile to share. I grew up knowing “that little lady who played the piano”. And Miss Sue took care of my granddaughters Payton and Maddie. What a loss for us but what a gain in Heaven!

So sad to hear of sue's passing. she was a not only my husband's first cousin, but also a very good friend for a lot of years.
She worked with all of us who sang not only in the choir of Sand Run Baptist but as soloist as well. she always had time to
be there no matter hat. she was one of the sweetest natured ladies I had ever met. always had a beautiful smile on her lovely
face. She was loved by everyone who knew her and also a very accomplished musician. I'm sorry we can't be there due to family illness but the family will be in our prayers and I know without a doubt she is a beautiful smiling angel in Heaven now. Will miss you my wonderful friend,
Hilda and Blonda Dawson

Our family settled in Ellamore from NYC in 1980. We were advised that if we wanted to get to know the community, join the fire department. From the beginning, we were struck with the devotion and sense of purpose the folks in the VFD exhibited, and were encouraged to join. Mike joined the EVFD and I joined the Ladies Auxiliary. It was there that I first met Sue, and I liked her immediately. I met a woman with a ready smile, of gentle good humor, ready with helpful and kind words, offering good advice on gardening, and who had an obvious love for her community. I still cherish those early memories, the sense of community and friendship with purpose that Sue and our neighbors exhibited. I cherish her hard work at all those hot dog socials, cake walks, bingo games, fire equipment fundraisers, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas socials for the children, and the easy way she had of connecting with folks. Even after we moved away, at any chance encounter, she always greeted me/us with a smile and good wishes. I respected her role in community and her gentle approach and humanity; she was sweetness personified. That she was loved deeply is a tribute to the woman she was and will always be in the hearts of her family and all of us who were privileged to know her. Rest in Peace, Dear Sue. We will never forget you. To Gigs, Jerry, Amy and Madison, our deepest condolences. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Mike and Jenny Higham
