Mary Weaver
Mary Weaver, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born January 21, 1932, in Harrison County, WV, a daughter of the late Marcus and Beatrice Cullums Hodgkiss. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband and lifelong soul mate, Jerry Franklin Weaver, Sr.; grandson, Jeremy Todd Weaver and six siblings including her special sister and best friend Glene Reich. Mary is survived by one son, Jerry Franklin Weaver, Jr. and wife Gail Lynn of Barboursville, VA; three daughters, Neva Weaver Moss and fiancé Lynn Harsh, Debby Weaver Meeks and husband Rick and Denise Weaver and fiancé Ed Smith all of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Russ Meeks and wife Coralee, Christopher Meeks and partner Sarah Wilt and Jake Moss and wife Davis all of Buckhannon and Blake Pfaff of VA; six granddaughters, Shelly Gause and husband Geoff, Ashley Lantz and boyfriend Dusty Zickefoose and Beth Kelly and husband Matt all of Buckhannon, Mary Smith and husband Nevin of GA, Alyse Weaver and John Malmgren of Leesburg, VA and Courtney Kimble and husband Chance of VA; 14 great-grandchildren, Gavin, Carter and Sawyer Meeks, Sophia and Paxton Lantz, Piper Zickefoose, and Benjamin Gause all of Buckhannon, Nevin Jr. and Nathan Smith of GA, Addison, Caleb and Benjamin Kimble of VA and Tessa and Dylan Hamilton of Weston, WV; one special great-grand baby Brielle; special family member, Shahna West of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Mary Lea Glaspell, Nancy Randolph and Lucy Gifford and numerous other family and friends. Mrs. Weaver’s family would also like to extend a special thank you to Sandi, Kandi and Becky for always being there to care for Mary. Mrs. Weaver, lovingly known around the Brooks Hill community as Ma Weaver and to her grandkids and great grandkids as Gigi, was a homemaker and member of the Brooks Hill United Methodist Church as well as a lifetime member of the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Department. She was the owner and operator of a personal care home in Brooks Hill and had the unique ability to genuinely make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. In honoring Mary’s wishes, she will be cremated. Friends will be received for a memorial gathering Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 2pm to 6pm at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6pm with the Rev. Brandon Kelley officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brooks Hill Community Fund c/o Debby Meeks, 622 McCartney Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
