Melva Lee Shipman, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2020. She was born May 9, 1934, in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late George Dewey and Philadelphia Elizabeth Miller Lambert. On February 19, 1958, she married Donald R. Shipman who preceded her in death on January 4, 1996. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald George Shipman; one granddaughter, Bobbi Lantz; one grandson, Robert Matthew Lantz and two sons-in-law, Charles “Bob” Lantz and Doug Wolfe. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Ours and husband James and Phyllis Wolfe all of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Jessica Bailey and husband Jeremy of Buckhannon and Samantha Shipman of Santa Monica, CA; three grandsons, Ike Shipman of Waco, TX, Joey Wolfe and wife Rachel and Zach Wolfe and wife Erica all of Buckhannon; one great-granddaughter, Delilah Wolfe of Buckhannon; four great-grandsons, Braven Wolfe, Samuel Matthew Bailey, Braxton Wolfe and Tristan Bailey all of Buckhannon; one daughter-in-law, Diane Shipman of Waco and her special companion her Fat Cat. Mrs. Shipman was a homemaker, a Christian by faith and a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church in Tallmansville, WV. In honoring Mrs. Shipman’s wishes she will be cremated with no services. In lieu of services, the family asks that you pause a moment to consider your own salvation. Melva went home to be with her Lord Jesus and the rest of her family who have gone on before her.
