Ronald Joe Simons, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, January 31, 2020, at his home in Buckhannon. He was born September 10, 1942, in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late John Sherman and Roxie Faye Karickhoff Simons. On December 20, 2017, he married Joyce Bragg who survives of Buckhannon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, John Simons and wife Toni of Niles, OH and Neale Simons and wife Rosemary of Volga, WV; one sister, Donna Warnecke and husband Vernon of Annapolis, MD and several stepchildren. Mr. Simons served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW # 3663 in Buckhannon. Mr. Simons loved to play games, go fishing and travel. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 4, 2020, from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
