Obituary of Sharron Sue Garman

Sharron Sue Hornbeck Garman, age 74, from Buckhannon, WV for 26 years, and Alta Loma, CA for 48 years, went to be with our Lord on January 26, 2020, at Serenity Care Home in Buckhannon. Sue was the second daughter, of the late Marple C. and Madie Glass Hornbeck. Sue is survived by her husband, Ron and daughters, Ammie Garman and husband Jim Valenson of Buckhannon and Megan Kimble and husband J.B. of Buckhannon; two grandchildren, Jansen Kimble and Hoyt Kimble both of Buckhannon; one sister, Phyllis Coyner of Buckhannon. Sue worked at Dr. Hawkins, DDS as a receptionist and the Colonial Hotel as a clerk at the front desk. Sue and Ron met through mutual friends Scott and Lois Casto in 1970. She married Ron on June 26, 1971 and resided in West Covina, CA and Alta Loma, CA. Sue was a proctor at the Alta Loma Junior High for over 20 years. She enjoyed working with the students and the school administration. Sue enjoyed her free time working in her many flower gardens. Christmas was a special holiday for Sue. Sue would start decorating every room in the house, starting in November, at times in October. Tables were decorated with elves, snowmen, villages and Christmas trees. Sue spent her summers with Ammie and Megan at her parents home in Buckhannon, enjoying her summers with family, friends and vegetables from her father’s garden. The family would like to express their thanks for the compassion and love that the WV Hospice Staff and Serenity Care Staff provided in our time of need. Friends will be received Thursday, January 30, 2020, from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
