Robert James Rose, Jr.
Robert James Rose, Jr., age 62 of French Creek, WV, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born October 21, 1952 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Robert J. Rose, Sr. and June Cochran Powell of Fairmont. Also surviving are one son, Richard Koch and Sonya of Fairmont; one daughter, Ashley Rose of Buckhannon, WV; one step daughter, Breanna Unger of French Creek; two step sons, Elijah Cerchiai and Zackerie Unger both of French Creek; one grandson, Ryan of CA; one granddaughter, Shaylen of Buckhannon; two sisters, Penny Palmer and husband Cecil of Grant Town, WV and Diane Watkins and husband James of Fairmont; two nephews, Justin Palmer and Catie and Matt Hagedorn all of Fairmont; three nieces Abigail Palmer and Christal Reed and husband Chuck all of Grant Town and Jamie Toland of Mannington, WV, great nieces and nephews Mackensy and Jarrett and Trey and Olivia; lifetime partner, Tameika of French Creek and his beloved dog Scholtz. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lindsey Rose. Mr. Rose served in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam and was the owner of The General Store in Hinkleville, WV. He was a member of the Way of Holiness and the Moose Lodge #598. Robert loved life, cooking and especially being with family and his dear special friends. He enjoyed reading and carpentry. Mr. Rose was a kind and gentle man with a big heart who accepted everyone. Robert finished out his journey on Earth to be with the Lord. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 4-9 PM and Wednesday February 18, 2015 from 3-9 PM at the Way of Holiness. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday at the church with the Pastors Jerry Murrell, Jeffrey Cochran, Ed Lowther and Dave Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the French Creek Memorial Gardens in French Creek. The Upshur Co. Honor will conduct military honors. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
