My mom was incredible! She was one of the loveliest & strongest women I knew. She stood the test of time, of trials, & of me! No matter how hard-headed, stubborn, or bratty I got, she was there to comfort me, help me, & support me in whatever I needed to do in order to be better. She was there through my ups & downs--the loss of some of the closest people to me, the times I was sick with stomach viruses & the like, the time when I thought I knew best & found out I was totally & completely wrong, through my horrible break-ups, my most embarrassing moments, the disappointments of making a bad grade or doing or saying something stupid, the times when I just needed someone to hug me, talk to me, or pray for me, she was there. She was there for the birth of my daughter, Elaina Grace (who is named after my mom--Elaina is French for Helen). She was there to take me on my first trips to Disney, Savannah, St. Augustine, West Virginia, & so many other beautiful places. She was there to always edit & revise my papers, watched me walk across the stage at my college graduations, celebrated with me in my 1st teaching job, supported me in every good endeavor I wanted to pursue, held on to me whenever I pushed away, told me to get to church on time when I was spending too much time eating breakfast or doing my hair. When I came home from school, she'd make sure dinner was ready & I had my homework done. These were just a few of her many, many, many beautiful qualities. Thank you, Mom, for taking care of me, for keeping me when others told you I was too much to handle & to let me be raised by someone else, for sticking with me through everything, for supporting me in living for God, for taking on the task that God gave to you to love & care for me. You were a beautiful example of how to be kind to everyone no matter what, how to love through life's most difficult trials, & to forgive, no matter how hard because our God forgave us. To sum this all up, you made one of the biggest differences in my life! I would've been lost without God & you. Elaina & I love you forever & always!!!

I am very sad to read of Helen's passing and want to share my sympathies to her remaining family. Especially to Christina Brantley, for whom I would take care of, at Helen's request, when Christina was a young teen. I thought the world of Helen as one of the kindness, loveliest women I have ever known.

To Helen's Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Helen was an amazing lady, so very talented in many ways. She was extremely helpful to me while I served as St. Simons Presbyterian Church Clerk of Session as she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She truly blessed me as well as our church.
She was especially so sweet to my mom, Louise Booth. Helen holds a special place in my heart. I'm so glad God put her in my life.
