When I reflect on the time I worked with John at Wal-Mart, two things stand out in my mind. First is when you worked a shift with him you were guaranteed a laugh during the night, because John always was smiling and enjoyed people and we at Wal-Mart we’re happier when he was our manager .The second thing was if you worked with him you got to know his family. He talked about them , and told stories about them often. He would bring them to work so that he could spend time with them. He loved his family. Billie and family I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm very sorry for your loss; it's heartbreaking. I met John through work, and it was always a joy to see him and speak with him. John always had a smile on his face and always had kind words to say.

The photo at the top of this page says everything I can say about John. I met John several years ago when he was an Assistant Manager and I was an associate at the Buckhannon Walmart. He was a good boss who treated associates with respect. He had a great sense of humor. At the time, Walmart would make us do the Walmart cheer at each daily meeting. Nobody really liked doing the cheer (Give me a.... W, give me an A.....etc.) but whenever John volunteered to lead it, he would do it in high pitched "cartoon" voice that left us smiling. In the years after he left Walmart, John and Billie would come into the store from time to time and we would spend a few minutes catching up. No matter what challenges he was facing, John always remained the optimist facing the world with the same, sometimes mischievous, smile that touched all those around him.
God Bless you John, and God Bless us all for having known you!

My heart is shattered as this man left a mark on my heart with his sense of humor, his courage, his stories, most importantly his love for the Lord and he knew through it all he was blessed!! Billie; an amazingly strong, patient, kind and God fearing woman that I know rests in knowing John is walking with Jesus completely healed and pain free.
These two love in a manner to their friends and family that we all should practice!!
To Johns beautiful daughter; your dad told me one day that he asked the Lord to at least allow him to be healthy enough and be in his rite mind to see you get married and walk you down the isle. After the wedding he told me that God answered his pray and he was okay with whatever was in Gods plan for him. I will never forget those two conversations.
To Johns son; he told me many stories of you and how proud you make him. You would sit in Church and rub your dads head, assist him to the Altar and never flinch as you would patiently wait as he prayed.
This is family rite here!! Many prayers and lots of love from our family to each of you!!
