Obituary of Mary Sue Darnall

Mary Sue Darnall, age 90, of the Tennerton Community, passed away November 22, 2019, at the Caring Hearts Personal Care Home of Weston, WV. Sue was born November 14, 1929, a daughter of the late John Hayward Sutton and Lucy Eugenia Sutton. On December 18, 1949, she married Thomas A. Darnall Jr, who passed away September 12, 2019. Surviving are one son, Thomas S. Darnall and wife Melinda of Buckhannon, WV; one granddaughter, Stephanie Darnall of Buckhannon; one grandson, John Darnall and wife Sarah of Buckhannon; two great granddaughters, Mikaylla Darnall and Skylar Bolyard both of Buckhannon; three great-grandsons, Travis Brotherton of Shinnston, WV and Lincoln and Collen Darnall both of Buckhannon; one great-great granddaughter, Kayleina Smith of Buckhannon; one great-great grandson, Jaxsyn Darnall of Buckhannon; sister, JoAnn Remley of Mt. Lake Park, MD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Pockress and two infant children. Sue graduated from high school in Lewis County and two years of college till she met the love of her life, Tom A. Darnall, Jr. Sue spent her life as a wife, mother and grandmother to all her children, whom she loved dearly. Her love for music and playing the piano was a huge part of her life. She gave piano lessons for many years to many students in Upshur County. Sue was passionate about gardening, bird watching, garden club and playing bridge. She loved to read and was an artist who enjoyed painting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she loved singing in the choir for many years. Sue was also involved with the Tennerton 4-H Club for many years. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM at the church with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the French Creek Presbyterian Cemetery in French Creek, WV. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice in honor of Mary Sue Darnall.
