Ava Blanche Thompson, age 92, of Ripley, WV, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at her home. She was born September 1, 1927 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Loy and Blanche Tenney. On September 16, 1948 she married Guy Edward Thompson who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bernard Fisher and one sister, Carmella Lucille Warner. She is survived by two daughters, Sonja Fisher of Ripley and Bonnie Wolfe of Charleston, WV; two grandson, Timothy Brown and wife Emily of Steubenville, OH and Matthew Wolfe of Charleston; two granddaughters, Jennifer Brown and husband Christopher Morris of Charleston and Tracy Wolfe of Lexington, KY; four great-grandsons, Ethan Wolfe of Charleston, Elliott and Andrew Brown both of Steubenville and Spencer Quizon of Lexington; one great-granddaughter, Emma Quizon of Lexington; one sister, June Martin of Chesapeake, VA; special friend, Joyce Cranfield of Ripley and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a Christian by Faith. She loved to garden and was awarded yard of the month on several occasions. She was a loving mother and grandmother. A graveside service will be held 3 PM Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV with Pastor Jimmy Tallman officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville.
