Obituary of Cathy Jonell Streets

Cathy (Jody) Jonell Streets age 67, of Buckhannon, WV, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.   Jody was born March 1, 1952 in Buckhannon. She was the eldest child of the late Charles D. and Norma A. Simon of Century WV. The Granddaughter of the late Ernest (Joe) and Nellie McLain of Century, WV and the late Philip and Freda Simon of Hodgesville WV. Jody was united in marriage on December 14, 1968 to the late ex-husband, Charles E. Streets Sr. of Volga WV, where they remained with their two children for over 30 years. Jody was a graduate of the class of 1970 from Philip Barbour High School. A 1983 graduate of the Davis and Elkins College Registered Nursing program. After receiving her RN, she went on to work as an emergency room nurse at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi, WV and St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, before becoming disabled. Jody enjoyed watching demolition derby's, her favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Nascar. Spending time spoiling her two grandchildren and her beloved pets Scrappy and her two cats Bob and Piss Willy. Jody is survived by her son Charles E. Streets Jr. of Clarksburg WV. Daughter Christie Streets and fiancé' Michael Wilson of Pennsboro WV. Two grandchildren Garrett Streets and Jolie Wilson both of Pennsboro WV. Long-time companion Dave Cumpston of Buckhannon. Four sisters, Charlene Simon of Buckhannon, Cheryl Kilmer of Volga, WV, Cindy (Tim) Spotloe of Philippi, WV, Caryn Simon of Buckhannon and one brother, Charles David Simon of Buckhannon WV. Jody will be laid to rest 11:00 am Tuesday August 20, 2019 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with a graveside service given by long- time family friend the Rev. Mildred Endrizzi.
