Obituary of Shirley Ann Martin

Shirley Ann Harris Martin, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 11, 2019, after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Upshur County on October 29, 1935 and is the last surviving child of Arnim and Beatrice Harris. She was united in marriage on June 19, 1954, to the love of her life Carl J. Martin who preceded her in death on August 9, 1996. She is survived by four children, William Martin, C.J. Martin, Sherree Martin all of Buckhannon and Teresa Martin Pike and husband Winston of Lancaster, KY; seven grandchildren, Robert Martin and wife Alicia, Patrick Martin, Carli Martin all of Buckhannon, Todd Edgell of Morgantown, WV, Martina Edgell of Bridgeport, WV and Jasmine and Sophia Pike both of Lancaster. Shirley was a Christian, devoted to Christ and a faithful member of The Way of Holiness Church. She had love in her heart for all people. She was a proud wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, playing rummy and Christian music. Friends will be received Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
