I treasure the SONshine, wisdom and wit that Ruetta shared over coffee and during walks. Thankful I was able to visit with Ruetta on her last day here and that we will see one another again in heaven. A special lady who has a special place in my heart.

I worked with Ruetta at Title I. She was my "go to" when I had questions.
She knew Title I Federal Regulations backward and forward. She was my
good friend and I have such fond memories of her. My condolences.

Ruetta was such a wonderful lady. She was my first grade teacher at the one room school in Ivy. What fond memories I have of how sweet she was to me. I was a scared little 6 year old in a school of children from first to sixth grade. She was the sweetest and best teacher I had in school. What a beautiful soul! R I P

She was a wonderful adopted nanny to my children who cherished her and memories they shared... Including lots of rainbow making with her colored pencils she always used for marking her crosstitching. The peppermint patties she would have tucked away in her purse at church or waiting in the frig, for them. So much love she shared with us freely not because she had to but because she wanted too. Wouldn't have missed for anything..

It was my privilege to work with Ruetta for several years in the TitleI Program. She knew the program, the federal regulations and more importantly she cared about meeting the needs of the children and families of Upshur County.
Ruetta’s years of experience as an educator in Upshur County made her a wonderful role model and teacher for all of us. She always wanted the best opportunities for the students.
Ruetta has a special talent for solving any challenge. She could brighten the situation with a touch of humor blended with “good common sense.”
She was a great lady and I cherish the memories of the time we spent together.
My deepest sympathy to family and friends of Ruetta.

Remembering my first job as the Title I teacher at Hodgesville School... Ruetta was a valued part of our Title I team. I so enjoyed celebrating birthdays with her after she retired and reliving Title I days. Shawn and Risë, I hold you in my heart as I smile with thoughts of Ruetta.

I was proud to be able to call Ruetta a friend and colleague. We worked together at Title I back in the early 70's. She taught me so much about education that both Wesleyan and WVU neglected to. I have always felt that knowing and working iwith her made me a better person and a better educator.
