Obituary of Evelyn Jane Beckner

Evelyn Jane Beckner, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Grafton City Hospital in Grafton, WV. She was born February 12, 1934, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late John and Thelma Slaughter Shipman. On October 4, 1954, she married Herbert E. Beckner who preceded her in death on October 10, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Sunderland and two brothers, Robert and Edward Shipman. She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Bosley and husband Herbert of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Michael E. Hawkins and wife Michele of Weston, WV and Jeremy L. Hawkins and wife Meagan of Hudsonsville, MI; one granddaughter, Michelle L. Hawkins of Buckhannon; two great-grandsons, Aiden Radabaugh and Damon Hawkins both of Buckhannon; five great-granddaughters, Emma, Amelia and Helen Radabaugh all of Buckhannon, Ainsley Hawkins of Weston and Jordan Hawkins of Hudsonsville; one sister, Marlene Baldwin of Massillon, OH; one brother, Johnny Shipman and wife Myrtle of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Beckner was a homemaker. She was a member of the Way of Holiness Church and was a charter member of the F.O.E. # 4357. Friends will be received Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Veterans Cemetery in Buckhannon.
