Obituary of Helen Louise DeBarr Armstrong

Helen Louise DeBarr Armstrong, age 82, of Fairmont, WV, went to her heavenly home on May 20, 2019 at Fairmont Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Fairmont. She was born July 30, 1936, in Volga, WV, a daughter of the late Odbert H. Price and Maude Lewis Price. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Putnam and third husband, Francis Clell DeBarr. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn DeBarr Thompson and companion Thomas Lee Heston of Fairmont; three sons, Joseph DeBarr and wife Jean of Monongah, WV, Rick Cunningham and wife Cindy of Fairmont and Jerry Alan Cunningham; three grandsons, Lee Heston and companion Chastity McGinty and Ricky Cunningham all of Fairmont and Joseph DeBarr II of Monongah; one granddaughter, Christina Cunningham of Fairmont; one great-granddaughter, Kirsten Hardy of Fairmont and six nieces, Karen Kelley of Buckhannon, WV, who she considered a sister, Linda Davis of Morgantown, WV, Marilyn Ritter of Gassaway, WV and Christine Masilowsky, Barbara Fore and Jeannie Ritchie all of VA. Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to dance and in her older years enjoyed looking out her window and watching the traffic go by. For most of her life she lived in Richmond, VA and loved going to Virginia Beach. Helen also loved cats, yard sales, bright clothes, and wearing glitz & glam jewelry. She was known for her long beautiful fingernails that she painted herself and received a lot of compliments on. She had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh with her one-liners. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received at Buckhannon Memorial Park for a graveside memorial service on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1 PM with the Rev. J.
