Phyllis,
Thoughts and prayers come from Connie and me.So sorry for your loss.
Homer was always known as "Buster" in our family. I remember the great times we've had together. I'm so sorry we lost touch with you and the family the past few years.
Buster touched so many lives in tremendous ways, to include me.
I remember your visits to WV, the laughs, good food and just wonderful fellowship. These special times live forever in our memories.
Love to you and all the family.
Love, Harry & Connie Allman

Dear Phyllis and family, I have so many great memories of Homer and sharing the teaching of Sunday school at Christian Fellowship with him. His knowledge and wisdom regarding our faith was very helpful to me as a teacher and growth as a Christian. A great person who was respected and admired by all who made his acquaintance. Sincere condolences & Godspeed.

Forty years ago there were several of us from in and around Buckhannon who felt God’s calling to start a church. The Church then and now is Christian Fellowship Church. To get us started, we needed a place to meet and it was Homer who offered his house as a temporary location for CFC. We’re it not for Homer and his wife, Phyllis, allowing us to meet weekly in their rec room, getting CFC up and running, so to speak, would have been far more difficult than it was. Homer continued to help the church grow and move forward ministering to people. He will be missed by many!

We are sadden to know of Homer's death. I knew him from about 1960 when he was a chemistry teacher at Wesleyan and of course worked with him for many years, in his three careers at Wesleyan. He was always friendly, competent and respected by students and fellow faculty. I never heard him lose his temper, complain or try to get out of responsibilities. He was also always tolerant of my failings in the same areas.
We regret we are out of town and cannot attend his services. Thanks to all of you for sharing Homer with us and Wesleyan.

My and Marjorie's condolences to Phyllis, Teresa, and Stephen, all of whom we know, and to their extended families.
Homer was a professional colleague in the Chemistry Department at WVWC and a good friend during the time we were in the department at WVWC. After he left WVWC, I saw him only occasionally, but we exchanged hearty greetings and up-dates of our families.
in 1965 Homer showed me around town when I first interviewed for a professorship opening at WVWC. A few years later, when he offered a flight ground school during January term, I took the course, enjoyed it very much, and flew a few times with Homer, and enjoyed that also, views and camaraderie included.

Uncle "Buss" you will sorely be missed. From the Family outing on Burnsville Lake with your ski boat, watching Uncle Henry get "dumped" a few times, to how you help inspire my late Father to obtain his Amateur Radio License. To your woodworking & the other time when we came to visit. God Bless you Uncle "Buss"
