Roger L. Beer

Roger L. Beer, age 72, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg, WV. He was born on March 10, 1946, in Buckhannon, WV. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Dello Ray Beer and Zula Madge Beer (Shipman); two sisters Zara M. Beer and Sylvia E. Bunner, two brothers Willard R. and Trexel L. Beer. Roger is survived by a sister Delma L. McKinney (William) of Bonita Springs, FL, a brother Dannie G. Beer (Brenda) of Mt. Clare, WV, and a sister-in-law Linda Beer of Hilo, HI. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Roger graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School with the class of 1964. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was honored as airman of the month at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota while serving. After returning home he attended West Virginia University and Glenville State College. Roger worked at West Virginia Glass and the Princess House glass factories in Weston, WV, for a few years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 11 AM to 12 Noon at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will follow at 12 Noon with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Tallmansville Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV.
