Obituary of James Ray Ours

James Ray Ours, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, October 26, 2018. He was born October 24, 1946 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Jackson Hugh and Clara M. Crites Ours. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Shanna Ours; two infant sisters, Katherine and Betty Ours; three sisters-in-law, Cathy, Barbara and Patty Ours and three brothers-in-law, Junior Malcomb, Bill Trinkle and Roger Hinchman. He is survived by his partner, Vonda Simons of Buckhannon; one daughter, Tricia Howell and husband Ronald of Buckhannon; four step daughters, Jackie Godfrey and husband Greg of Morgantown, WV, Nicole Simons, Christina Stimson and Lavonnia Goodwin all of Buckhannon; eight granddaughters, Darien Howell of Fairmont, WV, Lyndsey Howell, Payton Zickefoose, Coley Hamrick, Rhyanna Stimson, Janet Goodwin and Heather Everson all of Buckhannon  and Alyssa Stimson of NY; two grandsons, Kobe Hammrick and Gavin Daugherty both of Buckhannon; four brothers, Richard Ours and wife Toni of Petersburg, WV, John Ours, Jackson H. Ours, Jr. and JoAnn and Ronald Ours all of Buckhannon and five sisters, Helen Malcomb, Geri Trinkle and Karen Hinchman all of Buckhannon, Carol Corley of Charleston, WV and Patty Gower and husband Don of OH. Mr. Ours served in the U. S. National Guard and was a member of the B.O.E. Lodge #1736 and Moose Lodge #598 in Buckhannon. He was a Methodist by faith and a machine operator for Corhart Refactories. Mr. Ours was a good hearted, giving person who always liked to help others and loved to go fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the conclusion of the visitation.
