Jo Ann Tallman Rohr, age 72, of Buckhannon, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born July 15, 1946, in Buckhannon, the daughter of her loving parents, the late Paul and Loueda Tenney Tallman. She was also preceded in death by her biological parents, Rev Delmar and Evangeline Lantz and biological brother James Lantz. Mrs. Rohr is survived by her husband, James L. “Jim” Rohr and biological siblings Shirley Lantz Tenney, Gary Lantz and Mike Lantz. Also surviving are two sons, William Paul “Bill” Rohr and wife Kris of Buckhannon, James L. “Jimbo” Rohr II and wife Kimberly of French Creek, WV; two daughters, Donna Rohr Martino and husband Gary of Bridgeport, WV and Tammy Rohr Morningstar and husband Kenneth of Brandon, FL; nine grandchildren, Heather, Ashley and John Burr, Sophia and Gianna Martino, Alexis and Nicholas Rutsis IV, Kelly Morningstar, and Hunter Rohr. Seven great grandchildren Ariah and Jaiden Brown, Collin Rice, Presley, Ryder and Cash Tenney and Brantley Bell and several nieces and nephews. Jo Ann was a member of the Upshur County Republican Women, a member and 2nd Vice President of Central WV Republican Women. She was elected to several terms as a member of the Upshur County Republican Executive Committee. Jo Ann was awarded the Republican of the Year Award and the Republican Volunteer of the Year Award. She was a long-time member of the Upshur County Farm Bureau, where she served on the Board of Directors and on several committees. Jo Ann was awarded the Upshur County Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Award. She was a past President of the West Virginia Cattlewomen’s Association. In her earlier years, she worked as a Nurses Aid at St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, collecting Barbie Dolls and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 1964 and attended The Independent United Brethren Church in Buckhannon. Family and friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Tuesday. September 18, 2018, from 5 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Junior B. Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
