Obituary of Glemis Koon

Glemis Koon, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, September 14, 2018, at her home. She was born February 26, 1929, in Palace Valley, WV, a daughter of the late Eldridge H. and Nellie Mae Currence Wagner. On January 21, 1946, she married Orvie Wilson Koon who preceded her in death on November 3, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Wilson Eldridge Koon; five brothers, Harrison Dick, Marvin, John, Bernard and Roger Wagner and two infant brothers; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Koon and one son-in-law, Stanley Lambert. She is survived by five daughters, Annie Norton and husband Jack of Charleston, WV, Sandra Day and husband Richard, Irene Miller and husband Tom and Judy Lambert all of Buckhannon and Susan Tucker and husband Paul of Charleston; four sons, Orvie Wilson Koon, Jr., and wife Margie of Wooster, OH, John Koon, James Koon and wife Beth and David Koon and wife Debbie all of Buckhannon; eighteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Davis of Philippi, WV and Betty Hancock of Charleston and one brother, Onie D. Wagner of Rutledge, TN. Mrs. Koon was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Hemlock. Friends will be received Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 6-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Hemlock, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
