Dessie Everson, age 93, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her home in Buckhannon. She was born August 22, 1925, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Lafie and Izetta Oldaker Sothen. On February 14, 1942, she married Sherwood Jim Everson who preceded her in death on December 25, 2017. Surviving are three daughters, Katherine Minix, Rose Mary Jackson and Trecia Chidester all of Buckhannon; two sons, Johnny Everson and wife Helen and Delmar Joe Everson and wife Kenna all of Buckhannon; nine granddaughters, Kim Presutti and husband James of Richmond, VA, Crissy Oldaker and husband Darren of Harrison County, WV, and Jessica Everson, Sheena Bosley and husband Ronald, Stacy Underwood, Lisa Hinchman and husband Tommy Jr., Trish Fultz and husband Matthew, Tracy Dyar and husband Jason, and Patty Mackey and husband Steven all of Buckhannon; two, grandsons, James Sheets and Jeffrey Everson and fiancé Carol all of Buckhannon; 19 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, James Darwin Everson; two brothers, Henry and Jacob Sothen; an infant twin brother and sister; and three sisters, Ada Campbell, Elma Suder and Beulah Wright. Mrs. Everson was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Friends will be received Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 PM at the funeral home with Preacher Albert Farley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery in Upshur County, WV.
