Obituary of Ralph Junior Davidson

Ralph Junior Davidson, age 76 of Buckhannon, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 2, 2018 after suffering from a heart attack on August 15. He was born January 23, 1942 in Monongalia County, WV to his loving parents the late Rev. Vorse D. Davidson and the late Marie Cowger Davidson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sondra Ringer Davidson, whom he married June 25, 1988; son, Jason Depoy and wife Pam of St. Catharines Ontario Canada; daughter, Heather Depoy and companion Terry Crouse of Buckhannon; and 3 precious granddaughters, whom he loved dearly: Kayli Curry (daughter of Heather), Emma and Lauryn Depoy, (daughters of Jason and Pam). Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Davidson of Bassett, VA and Ronald Davidson and wife Nancy of Buckhannon, along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was one brother, Edward Davidson of Bassett, VA (whose wife, Connie Faith Davidson survives); sister-in-law, Maxine Davidson (wife of Robert); and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Curry. After retiring from the Upshur County Board of Education, he worked at the Upshur County Senior Center delivering meals on wheels. He enjoyed fishing and camping, spending time with his family and friends, having fun with his granddaughters, helping others and spending winters in Florida with his wife and their Florida friends. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, uncle, friend and papaw. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Friends will be received Friday, September 7, 2018 from 1 – 3 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 3 PM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Depoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, WV.
