Obituary of Martha Jean Rice

untitled3 Martha Jean Rice Martha Jean Rice, age 69, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born August 17, 1943 in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Glendle and Nellie Smith Roby. On May 10, 1974 she married Gerald L. Rice who preceded her in death on September 1, 1992. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Launier. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Lashua Jr., of French Creek, WV and Terry Rice of Hodgesville, WV and four sisters, Annabell Rucker of Lorentz, WV, Betty Labarge of Winchendon, MA and Helen Smith and Glenna Starkey both of Buckhannon. Mrs. Rice was a homemaker. She was a member of the Heaston United Methodist Church and the Pringle Tree CEO’s. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Rice Cemetery in Canaan, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
