untitled3 Rev. Lennie D. Reed Rev. Lennie D. Reed, age 89, of Tallmansville, WV died Friday, November 23, 2012 at his home under the care of People’s Hospice. He was born October 24, 1923 in Queens, WV, a son of the late Andy Morgan and Lura Russell Reed. On April 5, 1942 he married Sylvia J. Sharp who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Clyde Reed and wife Martha, Jerry Reed and wife Lorna, Danny Reed and wife Donna and Dana Reed and wife Sharoon, all of Tallmansville; two daughters, Linda Carpenter and husband Bennie and Vicki Reed and husband Chuck, all of Buckhannon, WV; twenty two grandchildren; thirty nine great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, David L. Reed; four brothers and two sisters. Rev. Reed attended the Faith Tabernacle. He was an honorary member of the WV Draft Horse and Mule Association, worked as a Miller at Southern States, as a coal miner and also delivered mail by horseback. He loved farming and working with horses. He also founded the annual Lennie Reed Wagon Ride. Friends will be received Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery in Ten Mile, WV.
