Obituary of Edith May (Newman) Zirkle

Edith May (Newman) Zirkle, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, she was born January 7, 1943, a daughter of Fred and Ethel Wright Newman. On August 21, 1961 she married Myron Douglas Zirkle who preceded her in death. Also surviving is one son, Myron Zirkle, II of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Carmen Mae Zirkle of Buckhannon; one sister, Alice McIntyre of MI; two brothers, Fred and Clifford Newman both of Buckhannon; seven nephews, Lionel Newman of Buckhannon, Shawn McIntyre of MI, Rick and Kippy Newman and Braniff Zirkle all of VA, Loren Zirkle of PA and Kenneth Allen Zirkle of WV; five nieces, Jenny Lyn of FL, Moirah of MI, Mary Ann of UT, Brenda Zirkle of CA and Kristina Leggett of Buckhannon as well as the husbands and wives of her siblings, nieces and nephews and her close friends. Mrs. Zirkle graduated from BUHS in 1960 and had attended Clarksburg Beauty Academy. She participated in Tri Y High while in High School. She enjoyed going to the beach with her husband and son for vacation, as well as camping, deer hunting and trout fishing with them. She also helped run and managed the family business Zirkle’s Shoe Store on South Kanawha Street, later moving to Tennerton becoming Zirkle’s Emporium. She was a caring, loving wonderful mom and grandmother. She will be missed greatly by her son and granddaughter. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
