Mary Elizabeth Todd, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 after an extended battle with cancer. She was born February 28, 1939 a daughter of the late Anna Elizabeth Nesbitt and Lawrence G. Osburn. On October 21, 1961 she married Zina Avil Todd who preceded her in death on January 1, 1983. Together they raised three children, Mike, Wendell Keith and Tammy Jane. Mary worked several years as a nurse’s aide and retired from the Upshur County School system as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of the Retired Service Personnel and the VFW Ladies Aux. She is survived by a brother, Francis Butcher, children Wendell Keith and Tammy Jane as well as several cousins. The family wishes to express their appreciation to WV Hospice Care Nurses, Senior Center Aides and special caregivers; Teri Mackey, Carolyn Brown and Cindy Hamilton for their excellent care and compassion during Mary’s illness. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 2-3 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 3 PM with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
