Obituary of Henry Page Quertinmont
Henry Page Quertinmont of Bridgeport, WV, and formerly of Buckhannon, WV and Fairmont, WV, died on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Meadowview Manor in Bridgeport, WV. He was born in Buckhannon, WV, on August 21, 1924, the son of the late Gustave Quertinmont and Francine Quinet Quertinmont. He is survived by his wife, Lucile M. Quertinmont, of Bridgeport; one daughter, Beth Q. Moore of Bridgeport; two grandsons, Patrick D. Moore of Baltimore, MD, and Michael J. Moore and wife Emily of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gus Quertinmont. After graduating from high school, Page was drafted into the Army, where he spent his time in England, France, and Germany. Mr. Quertinmont’s career included 13 years as a glass cutter at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company in Clarksburg, WV, and 35 years as an insurance agent, and agency owner in the insurance industry. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church of Buckhannon, Post #7 Buckhannon American Legion, Post 629 Life Member of the Fairmont VFW, a U. S. Army WWII Veteran, and a 50-year plus member of the Franklin Lodge #7 A.F. & A.M. of the Masonic Order. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason with a membership in the Clarksburg Scottish Rite Lodge. Page was a former member of the Buckhannon and Bridgeport Country Clubs. He enjoyed working in his shop, making small wooden pieces for family and friends. He also collected and refinished antique furniture. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice, Meadowview Manor Nursing Home and caregivers, Ruth, Nancy and Judi for their loving care of Page. Friends will be received Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home from 11AM to 1 PM, the funeral hour, with the Rev. Helen R. Oates officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors and the Franklin Lodge #7 A.F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic Rites at the graveside.
