Max Long

Max Long, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his home. He was born June 3, 1934 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Audra Long and Margaret Chandler Long Courtney. On August 1, 1956 he married Joyce Antoinette Barnette who preceded him in death on November 8, 2013. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Long; two brothers, Hunter and Bob Long; two sisters, Betty Lantz and Dixie Long and one sister-in-law, June Lane. He is survived by one son, Hunter Long and wife Rochelle of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Sean Long and wife Sarah and Brandon Long and wife Gabrielle all of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Victoria Kurzrock and Ryleigh Long both of Buckhannon; one great-grandson, Paxton Long of Buckhannon; one brother-in-law, Bill Barnette and wife Ruby of Tuscon, AZ and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Long was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a member of the Clarksburg Musicians Union and was a truck driver. A Graveside service was held 1 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon with Pastor Brian Sinclair officiating.
