Obituary of Helen Jean Heater

Helen Jean Heater, age 74, of French Creek, WV died Thursday, September 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born July 28, 1943 in Alexander, WV, a daughter of the late William Zane and Hildrene Jennis Douglas Hinkle. On October 14, 1960 she married Charles Vernon Heater who preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. She is survived by one daughter, Dedorah “Dee” Heater-Tomblyn and husband Bruce of Buckhannon; one son, Charles Brent Heater and wife Joyce of Grafton, OH; one grandson, Charles "Chuck" Brent Heater, II of Grafton, OH; one granddaughter, Crystal Ann Ksiazk and husband Dan of Amherst, OH; one great-grandson, Jacob Ksiazk of Amherst; two brothers, William Zane Hinkle, Jr. and wife Betty of French Creek and David Ray Hinkle and wife Rhonda of French Creek and a sister in law, Juanita Bunner of Buckhannon. Mrs. Heater was a retired Vice President for Key Corp. Bank in Cleveland, OH. She was the President of the Star Gazer Garden Club, the past President of the Fred Brooks Garden Club, past District Director of the Tygart Valley District Garden Club, the South Atlantic Regional Chairman for Container Gardening, the West Virginia State Flower Show Judge and was a life member of the WV State Garden Club. Friends will be received Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Czar, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
