Obituary of M. Kathleen Ferrell

M. Kathleen Ferrell, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at her home. She was born November 11, 1935 in Lake, WV, a daughter of the late Roy and Lizzie Ellen Albright Mynes. On December 18, 1953 she married Harry Ferrell who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Patti Baldwin and husband Mark of Martinsburg, WV and Pam Hebb of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Justin Baldwin of Morgantown, WV and Cameron Hebb of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one granddaughter, Kathleen Baldwin of Winchester, VA and three brothers, Roy Leon Mynes of Fernandina Beach, FL, Larry Mynes and wife Sharon of Tornado, WV and Terry Mynes and wife Jean of Keith, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jack” Mynes and two sisters, Pauline Elkins and Mary Lou Cantley. Mrs. Ferrell was a Girl Scout Leader for 13 years, she was a founding member of the Syndicate Park Women’s Club in St. Albans, WV, a member of the Junior League in Morgantown and a founding member of the Mountaineer Women’s Club in Morgantown. She was also a volunteer at Mon General Hospital and for Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Ferrell was an avid golfer and a member of the Pines Country Club in Morgantown and then became a member of the Buckhannon Country Club when they moved to Buckhannon in 1979. She was a former member of Drummond Chapel UMC in Morgantown and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Mrs. Ferrell was a member of the Lois Circle at First United Methodist Church, she worked at Central National Bank in Buckhannon, she was an avid Bridge player and loved gardening and quilting. Friends will be received at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 11 AM until 12:30 PM the funeral hour with the Rev. Steven Meadows officiating. Burial will be held 1 PM on Tuesday at the Pineview Cemetery in Boone County, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to WV Hospice, 6 Hartman's Plaza, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
