Edward L. Smith, 74, of Buckhannon WV died Sunday, February 4. 2018 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born June 20, 1943 in Lewis County, WV, a son of the late William and Mary Lee Queen Smith. On August 31, 1988 he married Carol Clemson who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Stephen Smith of Jane Lew, WV and Johnny Lee Riley and Adam D. Brumley both of Buckhannon; three daughters, Stephanie Abrahamson and husband Tim, Emily D. Brumley of Urbana, OH and Holly A. Riley and partner Christine Bender of Buckhannon; five special grandchildren, Aiden, Gavin & Riley Bender of Buckhannon and Kyle & Chelsea Riley of Elkins, WV and one sister Robin Light and husband Jerry of Weston, WV. Mr. Smith was a mechanic and retired from both Moore Business Forms and Trus Joist MacMillan. He also retired from the Army National Guard after 24 years of service. Mr. Smith was a member of the Moose Lodge #598, an avid bowler, NASCAR fan and loved to go fishing with his kids and grandkids. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5 PM to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held 1 PM Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow at the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, WV. The Upshur County Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
