Obituary of Robert Franklin Coleman

Robert Franklin Coleman, he was born July 17, 1955 in Fayette County, WV, he went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2017 in Morgantown, WV after a long battle with cancer. A son of Herbert Coleman who survives of Alderson, WV and the late Sylvia Hicks Coleman. On July 18, 2017 he married Diana Shaffer who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Vanessa Dunigen and husband Tommy of Clay County, WV; one step daughter, Missy Linger and husband Bill of Fairmont, WV; one granddaughter, Lillian Dunigen of Clay County; three sisters, Mary Ann Young and husband Jack of Pensacola, FL, Linda Gray and husband Buck of Alderson and Wanda Kelley of FL; one brother, William “Willie” Coleman of Alderson; mother-in-law, Ava Shaffer of Volga, WV; four brothers-in-law, Bill Gray of Alderson, Richard Shaffer and companion Cheryl Kilmer of Volga, Dale Gus Shaffer of Volga and Timothy “Porky” Shaffer of Volga; one sister-in-law, Donna Champ and husband Benji of Belington, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Gray and one brother Elmer Coleman. Mr. Coleman worked for Ray Brothers Drilling for 20 years. Barton and Oakwood Homes. He also worked for Bruce Hardwood Flooring in Beverly for 3 years. Started working for Aleris Rolled Products in Aug. 2007 as a Maintenance Tech until his passing. He loved old cars, football, nascar races, spending time with his wife, family, friends, his puppy Princess and helping on the farm. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 2-7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
