Edith Mae Phillips, age 89, of French Creek, WV, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. She was born August 17, 1928 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Claude and Gladys Kelley Ours. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Brenis Phillips. She is survived by two sons, David Phillips and wife Barbara of Rock Cave, WV and Brenis Junior Phillips of Parkersburg, WV; two grandsons, Brad Phillips of Weston, WV and Greg Phillips of Salisbury, NC; one great grandson, Isaiah Phillips of Salisbury; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Phillips of Salisbury and one brother Paul Ours and wife Susan of Buckhannon. Mrs. Phillips was a seamstress and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor David Jessie and the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Elbon Cemetery in Sago, WV.
