Obituary of Danny Lee Thomas

Danny Lee Thomas, age 60, of French Creek, WV, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home. He was born September 10, 1957, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Don O. and Madeline Cutright Thomas. On March 26, 1982, he married Emily Clem of French Creek who survives. Also surviving are one son, Billy Joe Thomas of Buckhannon; three daughters, Lori Endicott and husband Josh of Buckhannon, Melissa Eddy of Big Bend, WV and Michele McCartney and husband Kevin of French Creek; nine grandsons, Cordell Nicola and Calah, Jeremiah and Noah Nicola, Nathan Eddy, Cody Carpenter, Aden McCartney, and Josh McCartney and Sierra all of French Creek and Levi Thomas and Cody McCartney both of Buckhannon; three granddaughters, Taylor Ables of Weston, WV, Shania McCartney of French Creek and Lexi Thomas of Buckhannon; three great grandsons, Brantley Kirwin and Zayden Nicola both of Buckhannon and Brenner McCartney of French Creek; one great granddaughter, Bryleigh McCartney of French Creek; two great grandchildren on the way; one special cousin, Beckie Freeman; one niece Terri Cogar and husband Jeff of Buckhannon and one nephew Donnie Thomas and wife Lisa of French Creek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Anna Louise Thomas. Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Army and was a maintenance mechanic at WV Split Rail. Friends will be received Friday, December 8, 2017 from 12 noon to 6 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 6 PM Friday with Pastor David Jessie and Chaplain Jenifer Suehs-Vassel officiating. The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
